I might say this year has been the most silent one for my blog. Neverthless, it has been a year full of ideas, innovation, new paths, great changes. I have been so busy studying and working for new high project and now I will give just a word-hint: design.
To celebrate my new whole addiction I want to share a little gift with you: have you already got all your Christmas presents ready? If you still miss some tags here there are some doily ones, my passion!
Hope you will like them...Merry Christmas :)

The pattern I have made for my first lovely nephew has been appreciated more than I expected by the people who meet my sister and her son wearing the little polar bear hat.

For this reason I made the decision to knit a brown version and send it to my sweet friend Vita in London, new mum too.

Searching and searching, browsing and browsing, finally I saw this fa-bu-lo-us pattern by Joji Locatelli, and assigned to it a scottish soft yarn, in a colour I'm in love with right now.

The construction is bottom-up, explanations are very clear, the sleaves are worked top-down in the round and the collar is shaped with short rows.

I have always said I am not in love with shawls, considering them old fashioned, above all those symmetric triangle-shaped ones. I also know my statement will unleash a deluge of disdain among many knitters.

During these years I had to change my mind indeed.

Thanks to some great designers who created very nice different shawls revisiting the classic concept of this garment itself.

This way I discovered the variety of choices we can wear them...up to date outfits!

I like asymmetric and narrow shapes more than others, so I had no problem saying yes to my friend Tibisay's request to test a refined pattern, ready to knit for Abilmente together with all the people who would have stopped by their stand.

I chose to knit the shorter version because I don't wear big shawls but I love using them more like comfortable scarves, as you can see from the pics.

L'angolazione della foto seguente mostra il differente motivo lungo l'altro lato dello scialle.

The viewpoint below shows the different motif along the other side of the shawl.

Gennaio - Messico; Febbraio -Londra; Marzo - miami; Aprile - repubblica dominicana; Maggio - francia; giugno -;

Luglio -austria; Agosto -germania; Settembre -olanda; Ottobre - amsterdam; Novembre - las vegas;

Dicembre -colombia"

sanpietroburgo

Today’s time for my new cloche: it had to match my turquoise mojito and my hair style as well.

For about a month we have started a nice and useful kal that shows well how satisfying can be to knit for ourselves. Our aim is to create our own perfect wardrobe! The idea was born by a series of posts published on Tibisay’s blog and has gathered a large number of knitters so far :)

Each month we choose a garment and we knit it along. This is a free project: you can be part of it whenever you want, you can knit a sweater this month and decide not to make the cardigan of the following month. You can also have something already knitted, so that you can mark them as already owned ;) You might wonder: when am I supposed to finish? Good news: you can have all the time to get your wardrobe ready…this is the ideal project and the only challenge is against ourselves! Would you be in?

http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/linea-2
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/94-9-a---tunic-with-lace-pattern-knitted-in-bomull-lin-and-cotton-viscose (ovviamente realizzato in lana)

In january we have knitted the number 3, this month we are knitting…the number 12: a winter everyday dress in a neutral colour!
Below some pattern ideas (of course, you can choose a different one!):
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/linea-2
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/94-9-a---tunic-with-lace-pattern-knitted-in-bomull-lin-and-cotton-viscose (obviously in wool)
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/117-39-dress-with-3-4-sleeves-and-bee-hive-pattern-in-alpaca-and-kid-silk http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/118-5-tunic-in-lin-with-shirred-pattern-on-yoke you should knit it in wool and wear it on a t-shirt (or under a cardigan)
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/138-4-jade---dress-with-round-yoke-and-lace-pattern-in-muskat a bit more polish.

http://www.ravelry.com/groups/stitchn-spritz-trieste.

If you are on ravelry, here is the group: http://www.ravelry.com/groups/stitchn-spritz-trieste.

About two years ago I made the decision to use some of my savings to get a flight and spend a weekend on the opposite side of the Country. The following year we didn’t stop. We carried on collecting patterns, going around Italy and Europe to let people know about our book, translating patterns in English and other languages and testing them, receiving a lot of help and support by knitters and crocheters (all volunteers).
Our team has developed above all on the web, since we live at the opposite sides of Italy and needs time and sacrifice. It’s a project I’ve always believed in but for some weeks I haven’t got enough time as needed to work on it constantly. I’ve always be fussy, always needed to have everything under control avoiding huge backlogs of work to get through, always finished my duties on time. Right now I’m not able to satisfy these requirements so, albeit reluctantly, I have to leave this wonderful experience keeping in my heart and mind all the touching moments it has given to me. Although I won’t be able to actively and constantly contribute, I will continue supporting Unite contro il cancro project, wishing to the ones who will carry on working on it daily to go on better and better.
✿Lilly❀http://www.blogger.com/profile/01299748517969211593noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1036728581847083718.post-24440950228990795562012-12-08T23:26:00.001+01:002012-12-10T15:55:15.738+01:00Dicembre
Did you expect snow and wool from this title?
Sorry but winter has just come here…I put my coat for the second time yesterday from the beginning of autumn, finally I may say!
I pined to wear cowls, gloves, hats…ok I’m mad.
